Trisha Creekmore Joins PBS Interactive As Editorial Director Of PBS.org

ALEXANDRIA, VA - January 5, 2001 - Trisha Creekmore, a former interactive executive producer with Discovery Communications' Discovery.com, has been appointed editorial director of PBS.org, the popular, award-winning Web site of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). In this recently created position, Ms. Creekmore will be responsible for managing editorial workflow, as well as planning and upholding the editorial mission, of the comprehensive site that supports education, culture and citizenship. Ms. Creekmore will manage a dynamic, local/national Internet publishing framework that includes Web sites produced by more than 400 independent and station-based producers. Ms. Creekmore began her appointment in December 2000 and reports directly to Cindy Johanson, senior vice president, PBS Interactive.

In her position at Discovery.com, Ms. Creekmore managed multiple areas of the award-winning site, including Animal Planet Online. She also served as a community producer for TIME.com. Her background also includes a broad range of production, editorial and writing positions with such organizations as the Web-based magazine Charged, New Jersey Online, California Builder magazine and Fodor's The Berkeley Guides, among others.

Ms. Creekmore holds a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
